After years of suffering from skyrocketing premiums and a lack of choice under President Obama’s bloated, big-government healthcare legislation, the American people are finally one step closer to relief.
In a historic vote, all Republican groups in the House came together to pass the American Health Care Act (AHCA), fulfilling one of President Trump’s most important campaign promises. The bill is the first step in the process of scrapping ObamaCare and directly responding to the needs of struggling Americans and stifled competition in the insurance market.
The American Health Care Act will remove ObamaCare taxes and the overreaching individual employer mandate penalties while continuing to provide protection for individuals with pre-existing conditions and tax credits for low- and middle-income families. Americans will see their deductibles and premiums fall and will once again be able to afford insurance for themselves and their families.
Insurance companies are fleeing ObamaCare - it is dead. Our healthcare plan will lower premiums & deductibles - and be great healthcare!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 4, 2017
While there is still a great deal of work to be done, the passage of the AHCA marks a momentous occasion in American history, and the American people should be proud of the role they played in making this possible. Together, we are making America great again!
