The chair of the Democratic Party called her the “future of our party.”
Now, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is fundraising today with a group called Occupy ICE LA, which calls U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement a “genocidal ethnic cleansing machine,” “the Gestapo,” and encourages the harassment of ICE employees.
There’s arguably no issue that’s drawn more attention to Ocasio-Cortez than her call to abolish ICE, which has essentially become progressive dogma at this point.
Reminder: A staggering 90% of House Democrats refused to take a stand on a resolution supporting ICE. Senate Democrats blocked a similar measure, and 2020 presidential candidates Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, proclaimed abolishing ICE to be Congress’s #1 priority. The Democratic Party’s #2, Rep. Keith Ellison, wants to eliminate borders altogether.
Bottom Line: Heading into November, I guarantee more voters have heard about Democrats’ growing calls to abolish ICE than any of the bogus slogans they’ve rolled out.
